Published since May 2008, the quarterly statistical Bulletin of the Délégation Unédic AGS presents statistics on beleaguered companies and on the impact of receivership proceedings.

The news bulletin presents exclusive statistics on wage guarantee and the activities of the AGS in the context of the receivership proceedings. The key figures on main changes are provided for 12 months year on year, in other words the last 12 months closed at the end of the  2nd and the 3rd quarter 2011.

SUMMARY OF THE LAST QUARTERLY STATISTICAL BULLETIN

Business indicators continue to show positive trends
The more favourable orientation of the leading business indicators of AGS since 2010 was confirmed in the 2nd quarter 2011, with, however, a slight dip in the rhythm, two years after the global financial crisis peaked in France in the first half of 2009. The number of employees benefitting from the guarantee matches the trend with a -4.1% drop over the 12-month period until the 2nd quarter 2011 versus -8.2% until the 1st quarter. The aggregate decline in the number of opened cases over a 12-month period under the AGS guarantee for judicial receivership proceedings and receivership proceedings stood at -16.3% versus -17.1% in the 1st quarter. The temporary figures for 3rd quarter 2011, finalised on 30 September, indicate a probable continuation of this decline, without any new slowdown to date.
However, the number of protection procedures increased by +28.4% in the 2nd quarter 2011 compared to the same quarter in 2010, leading to a 0.1% increase over a 12-month period versus -13.7% in the 1st quarter.

More modest decrease in the amount advanced
In this context, the decrease of the overall amount advanced in the last 12 months, finalised on 30 October 2011, slowed down to settle at -9.7% versus -11.6% in the previous two quarters. Down by -2.6% over the same period, the amount of recoveries tend to fall mechanically, after the sharp consecutive increases in non-standard advances in 2009.
